1-27 First-Year Girl
Throughout this year, I received a lot of support from many people.
On the day when the earthquake happened, we were practicing a song for our graduation ceremony. After we finished practicing and we were listening to our teacher, the big earthquake happened. Because I had never experienced an earthquake like that one before, I was very scared. After that, we stayed at a community center for two days, and then moved to our grandmother's house in Yonesaki. While we lived there, we were given a lot of relief supplies, such as water and bread. I was very thankful for them.
In April, I went to junior high school for the first time. I was anxious because I didn't see any of my friends from elementary school on the school bus. However, when I got to school, I was relieved because everyone looked upbeat. When the entrance ceremony finished, we were presented with a gift of stationary supplies on our way out. It was a great help for me because there was no place to buy them. After that, I'd go to school and be given a lot of relief supplies a few times each week. We even got school uniforms and rucksacks. I saw that we were getting messages of encouragement and this cheered me up.
On the day when the earthquake happened, my house was washed away by the tsunami and I was very anxious about how I'd live. However, throughout this year, many people supported us and I have been able to enjoy a life close to the one I knew before the earthquake. Although living in temporary housing is sometimes inconvenient, I enjoy my daily life. I enjoy going to school every day and spending time with my friends. I don't ever want to forget the feeling of gratitude for the many people who supported us and I want to do my best at studying and club activities.

わたしは、この一年で、色々な人からの支援をたくさん受けました。
地震があった日は、小学校で卒業式の歌の練習をしていました。歌の練習が終わって、先生の話を聞いている時に、地震が起こりました。この日のような地震は初めてで、すごく怖かったです。
その後、コミュニティーセンターに二日間泊まり、米崎のばあちゃんの実家に行きました。そこで生活している間も、物資をたくさんもらいました。水やパンなどをたくさんもらいました。すごくありがたいと思いました。
四月になって、初めて中学校に行きました。スクールバスには、同じ小学校出身の同級生がいなくて、不安でした。学校に着いて、みんなが元気そうだったので、安心しました。
入学式が終わって、帰りに文房具をわたされました。買う所がなくて困っていたけど、もらえたのでとても助かりました。
その後も、学校に行くと、週に何回も支援物資をもらいました。スクールザックや、制服までもらいました。応援のメッセージが届いているのを見て、励まされました。
地震があった日は、家も流されて、これからどうやって生活するのかと不安でした。でも、この一年でたくさんの人に支援されて、今までの生活に近い生活ができるようになりました。
仮設でも不便なことはあるけど、毎日楽しく過ごせるようになりました。学校にも毎日行って、友達と過ごせてとても楽しいです。
これからも、支援してくれた人に感謝の気持ちを忘れず、部活や勉強に励むようにしたいです。
